21 Camp Shoes to Pair up with this Summer

camp shoes next to tent

An extra pair of shoes when camping may seem like a bit of a luxury, especially when space is limited. And although not totally essential, a pair of camp shoes certainly makes life easier and much more comfortable.

The form in which your camp shoes manifests themselves largely depends on what type of camping you are doing, and in what environment. There’s no use lugging a pair of waterproof wellies with you on a backpacking trip across the desert. A pair of roll up lightweight sand flip flops on the other hand? Perfect!

So to stamp out any confusion on the subject, we’ve done a bit of deep sole searching to find the best camping shoes that will suit all your camping footwear needs. From wellies for festival camping and glamping, sandals and flip-flops for backpacking and insulated slippers for camping in cold weather, you feet will be as happy as the campers they accompany!

Best camp shoes for car camping and glamping

The main point of having an additional pair of camping shoes when car camping, is for the ease of slipping them on and off to get in and out of your tent. Your everyday shoes will probably be walking boots or walking trainers – something tough that will stand up to day hikes and stomping around in the woods. And although they will do a perfectly good job of getting you around your campsite, they really aren’t designed to be taken off and put back on easily. It’s all too tempting to try to tiptoe into your tent porch with mud covered boots hoping that your light-footedness won’t transfer the forest floor into your sleeping space. So donning a pair of your cleverly packed camping shoes, will avoid the faff and mess of it altogether. It’s also nice to have something comfy to slip into to give your feet a break, and if the weather is suitable, something airy to let your feet breath. Here are our favourite camp shoes for car camping trips:
